Eight years ago, Renzo Costa began its online journey—as Christian Nole, the company’s IT Manager, puts it—through a custom-built platform to start selling its products online.
The Peruvian leather goods brand, traditional and beloved by many, was founded in 1973 and has spent over five decades establishing itself as a leading name in the leather industry, with more than 60 points of sale and 300 employees to date.
Since launching their digital sales channels, they’ve used two platforms. In 2020—a challenging year due to market conditions, a changing environment, and the pandemic—they made the decision to migrate to VTEX, attracted by its variable pricing model and pay-per-use structure.
From that moment on, they became part of the VTEX ecosystem. It was VTEX itself that recommended us as strategic partners to lead the migration from their legacy system to VTEX IO. Our technical and commercial proposal stood out among several others, and that’s how our collaboration with Renzo Costa began.
"ITG has been a great consultant to help bring the project to completion," says Christian. After working for several weeks with our team, he highlighted our methodology, commitment, guidance, and especially the know-how that made this migration a smooth, successful, and trouble-free process.
We assigned seven team members to support the migration process and led the redesign of their website—another major challenge given the fast-paced nature of the fashion industry, which constantly shifts based on campaigns and seasons. We had to fully adapt to that dynamic.
"As a fashion company that moves quickly, we needed a more flexible design," explains Christian, noting that the design process was closely overseen by Renzo Costa himself, the company’s president and owner.
ITGlobers successfully adapted to this fast-changing environment, exceeding the client's expectations. Looking ahead, the brand plans to start using Artificial Intelligence for decision-making and leverage marketing automation tools to continue growing within the Peruvian market.
